Speech/Language Evaluation
Evaluations provide a comprehensive overview of current speech sound production and language skills. Assessment may include measures of speaking, listening, and social communication abilities. The goal is to identify one's strengths while also highlighting areas for growth to guide individualized treatment planning.
AAC Evaluation
Virtual Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) evaluations include a comprehensive assessment of speech and language skills, as well as a thorough evaluation of AAC needs. This process includes feature matching, device trials, collaboration with OT/PT (as necessary) to ensure appropriate access methods or mounting options, along with considerations for an individual's cognitive, linguistic, and social communication needs across environments.

When appropriate, a funding request may be completed to support insurance coverage for the purchase of a dedicated AAC device.
Caregiver Training
The family is at the center of therapy. Parents and caregivers play a vital role in carryover. The goal is to equip you with practical strategies to support your family member's speech and language development or rehabilitation while strengthening positive interactions and connection.

Caregiver training includes strategies to build language through play or daily routines by promoting meaningful interactions and provide ideas for home practice. Ongoing collaboration and progress monitoring are an integral part of the therapeutic process.
Speech sound therapy focuses on developing clear and accurate productions of speech sounds within words and spontaneous speech. It supports the ability to communicate effectively and confidently across everyday environments. Home practice activities are provided to support consistent carryover and generalization of skills.

Language therapy supports communication, cognitive development or rehabilitation, and functional participation across the lifespan. For children, therapy focuses on strengthening prelinguistic skills, developing play and social communication, and building receptive and expressive language through engaging, play-based intervention that meets each child at their developmental level. For adolescents and adults, treatment targets functional communication, cognitive-linguistic skills, language comprehension and expression, and strategies to improve participation in everyday activities at home, work, and in the community. Therapy is individualized to each client's goals while family and caregiver involvement is encouraged to support meaningful progress beyond the therapy session.
Speech and Language Therapy
Research has shown that online speech-language therapy can be as effective as in-person services while offering greater flexibility and convenience. Teletherapy eliminates the need for travel and allows services to be provided in the comfort of your home.

Collaboration with the clinician is used to determine whether online services are the most appropriate fit for your family member's needs. Teletherapy services are available to families residing in North Carolina and South Carolina.
