Background and Approach

Natasia D'Aloisio, M.S, CCC-SLP, owner of Dynamic Expressions holds a B.S. and M.S. in Communication Disorders and Sciences from SUNY Cortland in Upstate New York. She brings a strong foundation in early childhood development along with diverse experience in human services, including supporting adolescents in non-secure detention settings and assisting adults with disabilities obtain and maintain employment in the community. This background informs a compassionate, practical approach to speech and language therapy across the lifespan, with an emphasis on meaningful, functional communication.

 

Services include speech, language, and AAC evaluations, caregiver training, and individualized speech therapy for people aged 18mo–99 years. Telehealth services are available to families residing in North Carolina and South Carolina.

Play is a child's natural way of learning and exploring the world. Therapy uses play-based activities to target communication goals . By following your child's interest, therapy promotes language, social communication, problem-seolving, and play skills in a developmentallu-friendly way. Play-based therapy seeks to build skills naturally and in a meaningful context. Parents and caregivers are encoouraged to participate and learn stragegies that can be used in everyday routines.

Low, mid, and high tech options will be feature matched to best fit individual needs  to faciliate functional communication at home, school, work, and the community.

Our adult speech and language services emphasize functional communication for everyday living and prioritize real-world communication and everyday participation over isolated rote drills. Therapy is tailored to each individual's goals, helping clients communicate more effectively during daily routines, strengthen connections with family and friends, and participate more fully at home, in the community, and at work. Evidence-based, person-centered intervention focuses on building practical skills that improve independence, confidence, and overall quality of life.

Functional Therapy

While spoken language may be the ultimate goal, I meet each individual where they are in their communication journey, building on existing strengths while honoring all forms of communication, including gestures, vocalizations, and body language. By recognizing communicative intent, we support the development of increasingly complex communication skills for each individual.

Total Communication

Caregiver training recognizes that caregivers are an individual's most consistent and influential communication partners. I provide practical strategies to help you scaffold your family member's  current skills, along with ongoing support through coaching, guidance, and problem-solving to address questions and areas for growth.
